Alina Herzau

Alina Herzau lives and works as an interdisciplinary designer and mixed-media artist in Leipzig. Her completed fashion design degree influences her artistic practice, which is characterized by the combination of analogue and digital elements. By combining pixels, paper, and textile, she explores the interplay between surface, body, and space. Additionally, she teaches as a lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Arts Schneeberg in the Artistic and Design Fundamentals department.

Alina Herzau's work deals with relationships – between people, objects, situations, and the perception of oneself and others. She explores the dynamics of interaction, the way we communicate, and the processes that shape identities. The focus is on interpersonal relationships: how we affect each other, how relationships develop and change, and how these experiences influence our perception.
