About Us.

we are faaya collective

who this?

faaya collective

Art that is good for your walls โ€“ and even better for the people behind it.

faaya collective stands for fair and young art and is a young startup from Graz that is thoroughly turning the art world on its head. Our goal? To make young artists visible and ensure that creativity doesn't remain an unpaid hobby.

How do we do that?

Through our online shop, you can get really beautiful fine art prints that will give your home a real wow factor. The works are created in collaboration with emerging talents in painting, illustration, graphic design, and photography โ€“ and each and every one of them receives a share of the proceeds. It's that simple, that fair.

Best of both worlds.

faaya collective combines art sales and a marketing platform: You gain access to unique art prints, while our artists benefit from a completely free advertising platform that tells their stories, and puts them as individuals and their works in the spotlight.

We believe:

Young art deserves appreciation โ€“ not self-exploitation.

And that's exactly why we exist ๐Ÿงก

Hello, it's me

Hey, I'm Greta, the founder and brains behind faaya collective.

The idea for faaya came to me back in 2020, when I asked myself what really brings me the most joy and what I even want to do with my life. It quickly became clear to me that it had to be something creative and that it should create added value for others. And just like that, the vision for faaya was born: I want to create a platform that offers high-quality and affordable art prints, created in collaboration with young artists. I want to tell stories and showcase the people behind the works. I want to strengthen the visibility of young artists and also create an easy secondary income for them.

Easier said than done โ€“ but good things take time.

Completely green behind the ears, I applied for a startup accelerator program, and lo and behold - it worked! Together with three of my closest friends (whom I quickly brought on board), we further refined the idea of faaya (then fairbildlicht), attended numerous courses on startup-relevant topics, and were able to convince more and more people of our vision. Nevertheless, we never managed to fully implement it. University degrees, new jobs, new cities - just everyday life, in other words - got in the way.

Come back stronger

Months and years passed, yet I realized that the idea of a platform for young artists wouldn't let me go. After I quit my job at the time, one thing was clear to me โ€“ it was now or never! In the fall, I was accepted into a business start-up program, and since then, I've been working every day to realize my vision. Luckily, I was quickly able to bring my first team member on board. Kovu mostly sleeps, but when the doorbell rings, he skillfully chases away all the postal workers who have important deliveries for faaya.

At the right place at the right time

In spring, more precisely on my 29th birthday, it was time: the founding of my own company. My plan was to start small and alone and see what would develop over time. Of course, I wanted to get some tips from experienced entrepreneurs, which is why I asked Christina and Claudia from Lotta Curls for a meeting and hoped for valuable input. And what can I say - it was a match made in heaven: two days after our meeting (which coincidentally was also exactly on my birthday), Christina called me and said that Claudia and she were so impressed with my idea and would love to join. Now it was official: fairbildlicht became faaya collective and from now on I'm no longer going it alone, but with incredible support from the two.
